Stinkhorn Lamp

£450.00
sold out

In the half light, down near the autumnal mulchy roots of the forest bed, the Stinkhorn mushrooms grow. Here, there are shadows caused from the light emanating within it’s net-like shape protruding from its cap, its indusium. House of Goblin lights rooms with this lamp and creates shadows from its own structure.  In Victorian times, stinkhorns were considered offensive and were sometimes attacked with cudgels to prevent young women from seeing them. It was also believed that if an unsightly stinkhorn appeared in your garden, it was likely the result of a witch's curse. Mischievous and playful, these lamps will animate whichever room they reside, whether turned on, or off.

H: 46 cm x W: 20 cm

Please be aware, all of H.O.G’s products are handmade. Therefore slight variations will be apparent between each product within its range. No two are identical as might be expected from the mass manufactured market delivered by other companies.
